Purpose Statement

“The purpose of At Jacob’s Well is to undertake exclusively charitable, religious and educational activities in service to the poor of the Baltimore area. This work is taken up as a religious duty, in the context of an ecumenical religious community. In particular, At Jacob’s Well will undertake small, human-scale projects, especially projects to provide housing and other services to meet the needs of the homeless.”

Organizational Focus

The essential components of At Jacob’s Well are the following: It will be small in size so that we can develop personal knowledge of our clients and develop personal relationships with them. It will be committed to community by promoting dignity, respect, celebration, and continuity. Our foundation will be in the ecumenical spiritual values of social ministry. We will strive to keep costs low and provide effective management with effective controls.
